WE’RE GLAD YOU’RE HERE!
WHO WE ARE
We are an independent Old Catholic Church, called the Apostolic Old Catholic Mission, which is the English-speaking ministry under the Bulgarian Old Catholic Church. We are a small but growing community rooted in the faith and practice of the early Church — and open to all who are seeking truth, grace, and spiritual renewal.
- We are Old Catholic – grounded in Scripture, the ancient Creeds, and apostolic tradition.
- We are sacramental – celebrating Baptism and Holy Communion as visible signs of God’s invisible grace.
- We are inclusive – welcoming everyone, regardless of past experiences, background, or identity.
- We are pastoral – believing the Church should be a place of healing, not exclusion.
We are not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, or any evangelical denomination. Our roots are in the historic Old Catholic movement, which seeks to remain faithful to the undivided Church of the first millennium — holding fast to what is essential, and free from what is not.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We’re not yet meeting every week, but we are gathering interest, preparing resources, and laying the foundation for something holy and enduring.
In future, we hope to offer:
- Regular Mass (Holy Communion) services
- Prayer gatherings online and in person
- Resources to help deepen your understanding of the Christian faith
- Warm, thoughtful pastoral conversations and spiritual support
There’s no dress code, no need to prove yourself, no pressure to “have it all together.” Just an invitation to encounter Christ in a new (yet ancient) way.
CAN I RECEIVE MASS OR A SACRAMENT?
Yes — even while we’re still growing, the sacraments are available by request.
If you would like to receive Holy Communion, the Sacrament of Baptism, or a pastoral visit, this can be arranged privately or in a small group. As our clergy are not salaried and we receive no institutional support, we kindly ask that travel and associated costs be covered where relevant.
We are also available for pastoral conversations online, for those who are seeking guidance, healing, or simply someone to talk to.
There is no charge for the sacraments themselves (or online conversations), which are offered freely in Christ’s name.
Contact us (click here) if you would like to request a Mass, sacrament, or pastoral conversation.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We are not Roman Catholic. We are not Protestant. And we are not part of any hierarchical system.
We are Old Catholic – a community that seeks to live out the faith as it was handed down in the first centuries of the Church. We stand in the tradition of those who, in the 19th century, sought to remain faithful to the Catholic and apostolic faith without innovations, abuses, or authoritarianism.
What we believe:
- That Jesus Christ is Lord, and His Gospel still transforms lives
- That Scripture, Tradition, and the Creeds faithfully guide the Church
- That the sacraments are real encounters with God’s grace
- That unity and diversity can coexist in the Body of Christ
- That the Church exists not for itself, but for the world it is called to love
We are serious about truth — and serious about grace. We hold fast to what is essential, and we let go of what burdens.
YOU’RE INVITED!
You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to fix yourself up. You don’t need to believe everything perfectly to take your next step.
If you’re longing for something more than religion—for real faith, real communion, and a real Jesus—you are welcome here!
Let’s walk together.
Let’s rediscover the faith.
Let’s return to the Table.
