UNIT 4: SYMBOLS OF IDENTITY

Theology is often communicated through signs. The candidate must understand the visual language of the Mission.

4.1 The Motto

“Christ at the Centre. Everyone at the Table.”

This is not a marketing slogan; it is a theological tension.

  • Christ at the Centre: We are Christocentric, not anthropocentric. We do not worship “inclusivity”; we worship Christ, whose nature is to include.
  • Everyone at the Table: This is the horizontal consequence of the vertical truth. Because Christ is the centre, the radius of His love encompasses everyone.

4.2 The Seal and Colours

  • Gold & Navy Blue: Gold symbolizes the “glory of God” and the “eternal light.” Navy blue symbolizes “mystery,” “divine truth,” and subtle Marian reverence (“without exaggeration”) .
  • The Angels: The seal depicts angels with trumpets, heralding the Good News—a reminder that our mission is proclamation, not silence .
  • The Chi-Rho (☧): The ancient monogram of Christ, firmly placed at the center of the shield. This visually reinforces our motto .
