Discover Our Mission

Guided by faith. Rooted in tradition.

The Apostolic Old Catholic Mission offers valid sacraments, ancient worship, and inclusive pastoral care. We serve those seeking a deeper connection to Christ through liturgy, beauty, and grace.

Under the sacramental care of Archbishop Svetoslav and the Bulgarian Old Catholic Church (BOCC), the Mission operates with internal independence and its own pastoral leadership. The BOCC is a legally recognised religious organisation in Bulgaria, and provides apostolic oversight while allowing the Mission freedom to grow in its own context. Guided by Fr Ashley R. Deutschmann, our community is shaped by the rhythms of the early Church — reverent, welcoming, and centred on Christ’s presence in both the sacraments and the people who gather to receive them.

“This is not performance or pressure — it’s Church the way it was meant to be.”
Fr Ashley R. Deutschmann, Rector

Not just another church — a different way of being Catholic

What Sets Us Apart

We are part of the Bulgarian Old Catholic Church, receiving apostolic oversight from Archbishop Svetoslav.
Yet the Apostolic Old Catholic Mission is governed locally and shaped by the real needs of those we serve — across cultures, languages, and borders.

Our worship is quiet, structured, and deeply reverent.
In a world of noise and confusion, we return to the ancient patterns of the early Church — rhythms of prayer, Scripture, and sacrament that have nourished souls for centuries.
We embrace the mystery of faith, not to confuse, but to create space for wonder, healing, and grace.

While we are not part of the Roman Catholic Church, we uphold the same ancient creeds, valid sacraments, and apostolic ministry recognised by the early undivided Church.

Our table is open and inclusive, not because anything goes, but because Christ welcomes all who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
This is a place where you don’t have to perform, compete, or pretend.
Here, you are seen. You are valued. You are received as a fellow image-bearer of God.

We believe the Church should be a place of
𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑦, ℎ𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑦, and ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 — not performance, pressure, or exclusion.
